Nelson Bay’s, Jayden Rymer is the BDAFL Rising Star Nominee for Round 2.
16 year old, Rymer exploded on to the field at Rose Point Park on Saturday in his debut senior game and that explosiveness didn’t stop all day. As he dominated in the mid field, he didn’t miss a target and took some screaming marks. With run that lasted all day, he was pivotal in the 41 point victory for the Marlins.
Jayden began playing AFL for the Marlins at age 8 and selected in rep sides since 10. Jayden debuted and secured himself a position in the Marlins under 18s side at just 14 years old. To date, at just 16, Jayden has currently played 133 games as a Marlin.
At 15 Jayden was selected to represent NSW and at 16 selected for the NSW U18 Rams team.
He has been a member of the Swans Academy for the last 5 years and is currently in the Swans U18s side.
He has played in 5 winning premierships sides and has won 5 Club Best and Fairest awards for Nelson Bay over the years. Jayden has also won the Ian Matthew’s Best and Fairest award for Newcastle Juniors twice.
